Anxiety support
ADHD & Anxiety
Anxiety is not always a panic attack in a grocery store. Sometimes it is the low hum. The scanning. The tight chest you have called “just being responsible.” Therapy is a place to put that down long enough to see what it is protecting — and what you want instead.
This may be you if...
- Your thoughts loop at night and again before you are even out of bed
- You over-prepare, over-explain, or over-function so nothing can go wrong
- Your body stays braced: jaw, stomach, shoulders
- You cancel plans, then feel worse for canceling
- You know the worry is “too much” and cannot talk yourself out of it
- Life transitions, old trauma, or identity stress keep turning the volume up
- You want ease, and ease feels unsafe
How we work
We slow the cycle without shaming you for having one. That includes the thoughts, the body, and the context — family, work, gender, sexuality, and the systems that keep people on alert.
In session that can sound like:
- Naming what the anxiety is trying to do for you, not only what it costs
- Skills for spirals, panic, and shutdown that you can use between sessions
- Room for grief, anger, and the parts of you that learned to stay small
- Trauma-informed pacing. We do not rip things open for the sake of it
- Homework only when it helps. You are in charge of your care
Same integrative approach: CBT and DBT skills when they serve you, mindfulness when it does not feel like another demand, and a lot of honest conversation.
